Colourwheels were invited back  to Out of the Ordinary Festival for a second year to run family workshops for a parade around a MOON inspired theme.

St. Lukes edible forest garden arts project 2010

Colourwheels were invited back to St. Lukes’ Primary School to run workshops with the entire school to celebrate the creation of thier edible forest garden.

The project included ephemeral art, sculptures made from recycled kitchen utensils, observational drawing, natural dyeing, paper making and printing.

It was a great week and the feedback from pupils, teachers and parents has been very positive.

Hurstpierpoint Community College

Colourwheels were invited to Hurstpierpoint Community College to help key stage 1 children to explore and experience different aspects of art.

As you can see, the children were encouraged in this project to get messy and indulge in the experience rather than just concentrate on the final outcome.

For Whitenights colourwheels created a ghostly sailing ship from recycled plastics.

Out of the Ordinary Snake

colourwheels held workshops at Out of the ordinary festival to create a giant snake

from recycled fabrics that represented the chakra areas of the festival.

Children and adults alike came along to weave rags into the snake.

Hubcap flowers for Lewes Rd Community garden

Colourwheels made these hubcap flowers for the Lewes Rd Community garden in sept 2009. They have since been used to decorate O.O.T.O festival, Patchfest and Bungeroosh Open House.

Beach party at St.Lukes school 2009

Colourwheels were invited to help at St. Lukes beach themed arts week. We began with an imaginary splash in the sea and progressed onto a variety of art workshops that took in many aspects of  beachlife, with a focus on found objects and recycled materials. These included plaster casting of shells and toys, weaving rags into a sea scape, sand sculpture, printing postcards and stained glass effect images.
